Sarah Solemani

Sarah Solemani (born 26 November 1982 in Camden, London), is an English actress and writer, best known for starring in BBC Three's series Him and Her.[1]

Solemani was a member of the National Youth Theatre, starring as Elaine in the West End theatre production of The Graduate.[2] After passing her A levels, she took a gap year before studying politics at the University of Cambridge, graduating with an MA Hons in Social and Political Sciences. She was a vice-president of Cambridge Footlights, and starred in their touring production of Beyond a Joke.[3]. She is about to start filming a new Channel Four comedy show 'Coma Girl' alongside Katy Wix and Katherine Parkinson.

Solemani was an attached writer to both the Royal Court Theatre and the Young Vic Theatre. She was awarded third place in the Barry Amiel and Norman Melburn Trust/New Statesman Prize for New Political Writing on the subject: "Do women's rights remain the privilege of the developed world?" in 2005. She also contributes to the New Statesman.[4][5]

Solemani and her comedy partner Olivia Poulet are presently writing a sitcom for the BBC, to be produced by Charlie Hanson.[5]
